The Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola has described the 3 years of Biodun Oyebanji led administration as impactful especially on those with special needs in the state
In her congratulatory message to celebrate the third anniversary, Princess Adetoun said that the administration’s education policy of the Governor is firmly anchored on good governance, quality service delivery, inclusivity, transparency and accountability..
She maintained that the present administration in the last three years has repositioned the state’s education sector by making it affordable and accessible to the people in line with the shared prosperity agenda.
The Special Adviser acknowledged the state government’s huge investment in the sector, towards the welfare and well-being of the special children in the state.
According to her, Governor Oyebanji has became a voice for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) by embedding inclusivity into state policy, stressing that by doing so the Governor has also made Ekiti a “model for Nigeria”.
Princess Agboola observed the various reforms introduced by the Governor have positively impacted on PWDs in the state, such a establishment of Ekiti’s first therapy centre in Ado-Ekiti, free sessions, meals, and transport for Persons with Disabilities. Upgrading of facilities at the state’s three special schools to global standards with cutting-edge equipment and trained specialists, preparation of students for national exams like WAEC and UME, with many securing university admissions.
The Special Education who posited that people living with disabilities in Ekiti have a brighter future hopes assured that Oyebanji will not renege on his promises through his various policies and programmes.
