A member of Ekiti State House of Assembly Member, representing Moba Constituency 1, Hon. (Mrs) Abimbola Solanke has congratulated a former Governor of Ekiti State, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum(NGF) and former minister of Mines and Steel Development, His Excellency Dr. Kayode Fayemi (JKF), on the occasion of his 61st birthday.
In a congratulatory message made available to Newsmen, Honourable Solanke described Dr. Fayemi as a statesman whose life has been defined by discipline, patriotism, and service to Ekiti, Nigeria and the world over.
Solanke said the celebration of the former Governor at Sixty one years(61) offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on decades of selfless service rendered by the statesman across military and civilian spheres.
She added that Dr Fayemi s’s life remains an example of leadership anchored on sacrifice, courage, and loyalty to the nation, noting that his contributions have left lasting footprints in governance and national development.
The State lawmaker noted that Dr. Fayem’’s leadership of Ekiti State during his tenure as a two term Governor in 2010-2014, Minister between 2015 and 2018 and 2018-2022 eflected firmness, administrative competence, and a strong commitment to public order and service delivery.
According to Solanke, Fayemi’s years as governor were marked by efforts at strengthening state institutions, promoting economic development, and democratic governance in Ekiti State.
“Dr Kayode Fayemi belongs to a generation of leaders whose public service was driven by a strong sense of duty rather than personal gain. His journey reflects adaptability, experience, and commitment to state and national unity,” Solanke said.
She added that beyond holding public office, the former governor has continued to play the role of a statesman, offering guidance, counsel, and stabilizing influence within the political space and national discourse.
“As you marks 61 years, we celebrate not just longevity, but a life spent in service to the state and country and its people,” the lawmaker stated.
