The Seven towns in Ikole West Local Council Development area(LCDA) stood still on Sunday, March 1st as leaders and Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trooped out in their numbers to launch their streets campaigns for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji who is the flagbearer of the party in the June 20 election.
The convergence tagged : A Walk for BAO was organized by the Chairman of the local council, Honorable Mrs, Mosunmola Adeyemo fondly called “Opelope BAO”, joined by other party stalwarts, including market traders, Artisans and members of transport unions.
With posters of Governor Oyebanji in their hands with illustration of where to thumb print during the election, party faithfuls danced through streets sing praising the Governor affirming their stands for the continuity of his administration till 2030.
Speaking, the Ikole West LCDA Chairman, Honourable (Mrs), Mosunmola Adeyemo said the Solidarity Walk to put together to rejig their support for Governor Oyebanji whom She said had improved the socio economic lives and as well brought infrastructural development to the council area and local communities in the state.
Adeyemo who has just be reaffirmed for another term in office as the Council Chairman, unequivocally said the votes for Governor Oyebanji, who is the APC Guber candidate is 100 percent.
As parts of her political mobilizing strategy for the re-election of Oyebanji, the Council Chairman at the event inaugurated House to House Mobilizers for BAO with 5 each from the 7 towns that comprised the two political wards in the area with a promised to give them a monthly financial backing for the task.
Party leaders who spoke at the event including the Chairman of APC ward 1 in Ikole local government, Mr Ojo Afolabi, Mr Deji Adeyanju, Mrs Funmilayo Ogunlade and the husband of the Council Chairman, Chief David Adeyemo thanked the Governor for the impacts across various sectors in Ikole West LCDA, which have made eligible voters to declare their support and readiness to return the Governor for another term in office.
Others who spoke were, Mr Segun Ogundipe, youth representative, Sunday Aroso, and representative of the local hunters, Chief Oluwaseyi Daramola also eulogized the policies and programmes of Governor Biodun Oyebanji with an assurance that Ikole West LCDA will deliver their votes fully for him in the June 20 election.
With visible enthusiasm and call for support, APC leaders and members said they remained committed to mobilizing support for the continuity of the Oyebanji administration with a call on other Ekiti citizens to stand firm with the Governor whom has transformed various communities in the state.
