The Olukere of Ikere Ekiti, Odo-Oja Ikere local Government, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin has congratulated Governor Oyebanji on his re-election for a second term.
Oba Obasoyin described his re-election as a testimony of his impressive performance since his assumption into office in 2022, especially in the areas of infrastructure, education, health, Agriculture and human capital development.
Olukere described Governor Oyebanji as designed by God.
Oba Ayodele Obasoyin expressed delight that Oyebanji has broken the jinx as the first governor in Ekiti State’s history to win two consecutive governorship elections in a row since the state’s creation about 29 years ago, first governor to secure the highest number of votes ever recorded in Ekiti’s electoral history, the first governor in Ekiti to enjoy the support of all his predecessors, regardless of political party affiliation and the first governor to be elected and re-elected under the provisions of the new Electoral Act.
According to the traditional ruler “Knowing the impressive track record, unwavering commitment to public service, and inspiring vision for the future have earned you His Excellency Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the trust and confidence of the people of Ekiti State.
“Your dedication to upholding the principles of democracy and your tireless efforts to promote the common good are truly admirable, and we are certain that you will serve our state with distinction and honour.
Olukere wished the Ekiti State Governor all the best in his endeavours and expressed strong believe that his leadership will bring about positive changes and lasting benefits to the state.
The monarch also urged the Governor to beef up more adequate security across the various communities of the in his next dispensation to prevent invasion of bandits.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had last Sunday 21st June declared Oyebanji winner of the EkitiState Governorship election held on June 20.
