The Executives and members of Petroluem Dealers Association of Nigeria(PEDAN), Ekiti State Chapter under the leadership of its State Chairman, Evangelist Olu Olobele has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji(BAO) on his re-election, describing the outcome of the election as a resounding affirmation of his impacting leadership and the remarkable progress recorded in the state.
In a statement made available to Journalists on Wednesday, PEDAN Ekiti State said that Oyebanji’s victory reflects the collective decision of the people of Ekiti to renew their confidence in his leadership.
According to the statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Evang. Olu Olobele, Vice Chairman, Mrs Akinola Stella, Sir Kingsley Nwache -General Secretary, Mr Omodara Kayode Ayokunle –Public Relations Officer(PRO) and Baale Adeniyi Michael -Assistant Secretary, PEDAN extolled the tenacity of the people, with an assurance that Oyebanji’s second term will fast track more positive change and more infrastructural development in the state.
While acknowledging the ‘OMOLUABI” core values of discipline, respect, integrity and compassion that Governor Oyebanji exhibits; through his various policies and programmes to improving the living standards of people both in the formal and informal sectors, the PEDAN urged Oyebanji to keep the flag flying during his second tenure. This it said will make his memories unforgettable like that of the late Sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
”Chief Obafemi Awolow was a foundational Nigerian nationalist, statesman, and political leader. He was primarily known for his visionary leadership, his foundational role in Nigeria’s independence, and his transformative socio-economic policies as Premier of the Western Region” the statement reads.
They described the Oyebanji as a Jinx Breaker being the first Governor to be elected back to back in the history of Ekiti State, and first Governor to be elected in Nigeria after the signing of the new Electoral act.
The Association urged Governor Oyebanji to use the renewed mandate to deepen development efforts, strengthen security and improve infrastructure.
PEDAN promised to continue to work in support of the Governor especially as it relates to the sector to make life bearable for the citizens.
