A former Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Rural Mobilization, Honourable Oluremi Ajayi popularly called ”BABINTON” has urged residents in the state to take advantage of the ongoing INEC’s Continuous Voter Registration exercise to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Card.
Honourable Ajayi made the call in Ado Ekiti on Saturday during an interview with our Correspondent in Ado Ekiti.
She said that voter registration remained the foundation of democratic participation, noting that democracy can only flourish when citizens take ownership of the process by registering to vote and holding leaders accountable.
“The right to vote is the cornerstone of democracy,” Babinton said.
Honourable Ajayi urged all eligible Ekiti residents, particularly first-time voters and those who had relocated, to utilize this opportunity to register, update, or transfer their voter information.
The former aide to Governor Oyebanji on Rural Mobilization appealed to community leaders, civil society organizations, youth groups, and other stakeholders to support the mobilization of residents for registration, saying no eligible citizen is excluded from the registration process.
Acknowledging the impacts of Governor Oyebanji’s administration across various the over 132 Communities in the state, Babinton sought the continuous support of Ekiti people particularly those of voting age towards the actualization of BAO/MCA continuity agenda till 2030 to enjoy more dividends of democracy as being experienced in all multifaceted sectors.
