The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted accreditation to Crown Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, to run its National Diploma (ND) programme in Mass Communication, effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The Rector of the institution, Dr Kolawole Ajisola, who disclosed the development to journalists, described the accreditation as another significant milestone in the polytechnic’s pursuit of academic excellence and quality technical education.
Dr Ajisola explained that the approval followed a recent quality assurance visitation by the regulatory body to the institution, after which the outcome was formally communicated to the polytechnic in an official letter signed by the NBTE Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, Ayo Aroge on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Dr Idris Bugaje confirming the programme’s accreditation status.
He said the recognition underscored the institution’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and providing students with quality education that meets established regulatory requirements.
The Rector commended the management, staff, students and other stakeholders for their collective contributions to the achievement, noting that the accreditation reflected sustained teamwork, dedication and a shared vision for institutional growth.
According to him, the NBTE’s approval would further strengthen Crown Polytechnic’s standing as a reputable tertiary institution in Ekiti State and Nigeria, while enhancing its capacity to deliver education in line with national and international standards.
Dr Ajisola assured that the institution would continue to support policies and initiatives aimed at promoting effective teaching, research, academic development and sustainable institutional growth.
With the accreditation taking effect from the 2026/2027 academic session, Crown Polytechnic is now authorised, according to the NBTE’s approval letter, to admit and train students for its newly accredited National Diploma programme in Mass Communication.
The development is expected to provide prospective students with an opportunity to pursue formal training in Mass Communication at the institution, while strengthening the development of professional skills required in the media and communications industry.
