The Olukere of Ikere, Odo-Oja, Ikere Ekiti, Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin (Okomolese 1) has felicitated with all Muslim faithfuls in the town, Ekiti and Nigeria at large on this year’s occasion of the Eid el-fitr which marks the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In a goodwill message, the Traditional Ruler said Eid el-fitr festival connotes sacrifice, selflessness, love and obedience to the tenets of Islam, urging faithfuls to draw enduring lessons from the Holy month and show love to one another as well as promote harmony and peaceful coexistence among diverse people.
“I enjoined Muslim faithfuls to sustain the devotion and other acts of worship performed during the holy month as well as imbibe the lessons learnt during Tafsir sessions for the good of the religion, society and humanity.”
Olukere added that “the same way we all remembered the less privileged and those afflicted by poverty during Ramadan, I implore us to carry over these attributes beyond Ramadan”.
Oba Abdulganiyu Obasoyin while commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji ‘s viable projects and programmes aimed at taking the state to greater heights, called on the Governor to continue to extend the dividends of democracy to the people of Ikere Ekiti, and as well see to the timely completion of Ikere/Akure road dualization for economic growth.
The Monarch prayed for the town and it’s residents, Ekiti State and especially the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, wishing them more of Ramadan festivities in good health and prosperity.
