The Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area(LCDA) in Ekiti State, Prince Michael Ogungbemi has empowered youths in the council area in tandem with the Share Prosperity Vision of Governor Oyebanji for people at the grassroots level.
The initiative was a partnership between Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Fluid Management Services targeted to train and empower youths in cassava plantation as well as provide a comprehensive package of free farm inputs and guaranteed off-takers arrangements.
Speaking at the council headquarters, the Council Boss, Prince Ogungbemi noted that the initiative aligns with the agricultural development drive of Governor Biodun Oyebanji which Ajoni LCDA domesticated to empower youths by providing skills and needed resources to be self reliant and succeed in agribusiness.
Prince Ogungbemi explained that about 60 acres of land have been provided at the Ekiti State Agricultural Processing Zone with 2 acres of land allocated to each participating farmers.
He said the programme will also provide training and technical support to the participating youths, saying the FMS involvement will leads to the provision of all necessary farm inputs, including cassava stems, fertilizers, herbicides and equipment. Off-takers have already been secured to purchase the products at the harvest period.
The Ajoni Council boss called on residents to keep faith in the Oyebanji’s administration, saying the goodies of democracy would surely come their way.
The Chairman lauded Fluid Management Services for the collaboration and urged participating youths to be responsive and responsible during and after the program
The Farm Manager, Mr. Femi Ajayi in his remarks promised FMS support to the growth and development of farming activities to every interested youth.
Also, the Vice Chairman, Prince Tunde Famoroti and Director of Agric, Pastor Adedayo Makinde commended the initiative of the Council Chairman and advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.
