In furtherance of government’s strategy to involve local Artisans in the state in its infrastructural management, the Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Assets Management, office of the Governor, Ms Temitope Oni has met with leaders of various Artisan groups in the state.
The familiarization meeting held last Monday at the Governor’s office in Ado Ekiti was attended by State Chairmen of Artisans and some government representatives.
Leaders of Artisans at the meeting included that of Refrigerators and Conditioners, Aluminum Association, Plumbing Association, Electrical Rewinding Association, Block Molders, Generator Plant Mechanic, amongst others.

The DG, Ekiti State Assets Management, Ms Temitope Oni (an Architect) while addressing the people explained that forum was part of Governor Oyebanji’s magnanimity at empowering every segment of the society with government assets properly managed in tune with his shared Prosperity mantra
Mrs Oni who described artisans as one of the backbones of economic growth said the present administration recognizes the importance of engaging local artisans in maintaining and enhancing government physical assets which included, construction, repairs, installations and maintenance of facilities with routine checks, hence the collaboration mechanism.
The Director General, Asset Management who reeled out Mr Governor’s directive in creating a robust database for artisan bodies, said intending artisans will be scrutinized with practicals and certified before project execution to foster professionalism, promising them of more involvement in government related activities.
The Technical Adviser on Change Management(OTSD), Mr Biyi Fasoyin said Governor Oyebanji will continue to involve local artisans in government dealings while charging them to upgrade their skills in tune with global standards

Representatives of the artisans who included, Olajide Fatai(Ekiti State Chairman, Association of Refrigerators and Air-Conditioners) Dare Ojo (Chairman, Aluminium Association) and Paul Owolabi(Electrical Rewinding Association) acknowledged Governor Oyebanji’s recognition and expressed their readiness to work with him.
They urged government to shun road side laborers but engage members through their Associations for better productivity

They promised their total support for the continuity of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
