The Olukere of Ikere, Odo Oja, Ikere local government, Oba Ayodele Obasoyin (Okomolese II) has felicitated with Christians in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations, which marks the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Oba Obasoyin noted that the Easter symbolized sacrifice and service to God and therefore, enjoined Christians to emulate the life of Jesus Christ who laid down his life as ultimate sacrifice for the sake of humankind and humanity.
In addition, Olukere urged the Christian faithful in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State and Nigeria at large to continue to live in peace and harmony, good neighbourliness with the believers of other faiths and emulate the virtues of humility, perseverance, sacrifice, love and forgiveness as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Olukere prayed that “as Christ rose from the dead and brought salvation to mankind, so will Ikere people rise and triumph in all endeavors from all their challenges and therefore, urged them not to lose hope in whatever circumstances they find themselves.
Oba Ayodele Obasoyin wished all Nigerians a peaceful, Happy and blessed Holy Easter Celebration!
The traditional ruler admonished believers and the Christian faithful to be Christ-like and pray fervently to God for forgiveness of sins.
