A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo has called on all eligible Voters in Ekiti State to take full advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
Speaking with Newsmen in Abuja, Akinlayo emphasized that voter registration is the foundation of democratic participation.
Honourable Akinlayo noted that democracy can only flourish when citizens take ownership of the process by registering, voting, and holding leaders accountable.
The federal lawmaker who noted that ”the right to vote is the cornerstone of democracy,” urged all eligible voters in Moba, Ilejemeje, Ido/Osi local councils with extension to other parts of Ekiti, particularly first-time voters and those who have relocated, to utilize this opportunity to register, update, or transfer their voter information.
“Your PVC is your voice, and your voice must be heard in shaping the future of our communities and our dear state.” Akinlayo stressed
Honourable Akinlayo who promised to continue to mobilize for the voters registration and collection, appealed to community leaders, civil society organizations, youth groups, and other stakeholders to support the mobilization of residents, ensuring that no eligible citizen should excluded from the registration process.
Stressing the importance of standing firm with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration till 2030, the Ekiti Federal lawmaker assured that multifaceted impacts will be felt more with the support of Ekiti Caucus in the National Assembly across communities of the state, while adding that the move becomes realizable with the turn-outs of people to update their permanent voters cards.
