The Lawmaker representing Moba constituency One in Ekiti State House of Assemly, Homourable (Mrs) Abimbola Solanke has joined women to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day which holds on March 8, every year
The Lawmaker in her goodwill message and made available to newsmen today, Solanke applauded the resilience, courage, and invaluable contributions of women to the growth of families, communities, and nations.
Honourable Solanke who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health Services noted that this year’s theme, “Give To Gain,” highlights the importance of investing in and supporting women and girls, emphasizing that empowering women ultimately leads to stronger societies and sustainable development.
She acknowledged the significant role women play in leadership, entrepreneurship, education, and community development, describing them as indispensable partners in building a prosperous and equitable society.
The lawmaker also aligned with the advocacy of the United Nations for “Rights. Justice. Action for All Women and Girls,” stressing the need for deliberate actions that remove barriers such as discriminatory practices and social norms that hinder women from attaining their full potential.
Solanke further urged women, to remain steadfast, pursue their aspirations with confidence, and continue to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of society.
