As Christians world-over mark the 2026 Easter celebration, a member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Honourable Abimbola Solanke has extended warm greetings to the Christian community in Moba Constituency 1, Ekiti State, and Nigeria at large, urging believers to reflect deeply on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and emulate His virtues in their daily lives.
In her goodwill Easter message, the Ekiti lawmaker described Easter as a sacred and solemn season that reminds Christians of the supreme price paid by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
According to her, Christ’s death and resurrection symbolize hope, redemption, and the promise of eternal life.
Solanke, while felicitating with Christians, emphasised the importance of embracing the values of love, sacrifice, humility, and forgiveness, which were exemplified in the life and death of Jesus Christ.
She said the Easter celebration should go beyond festivities and serve as a moment of sober reflection and spiritual renewal.
“Easter is not just a time to rejoice, but also a period to reflect on the profound significance of Christ’s resurrection,” the lawmaker stated.
“His selfless act of laying down His life for humanity teaches us compassion, unity, and the need to serve others without expectation.”
Honourable Solanke called on Christians and all Nigerians to promote peace and mutual understanding across ethnic and religious divides.
According to Solanke, the resurrection of Christ should inspire a renewed commitment to nation-building and community service among citizens.
She wished all Christians a joyful Easter celebration filled with peace, renewed faith, and divine grace.
