Residents at Ikole, Isaba, Ikoyi Ekiti have applauded the Governor Oyebanji’s Roads Connectivity drive which reached the area as part of efforts to open up every nook and cranny of the state for economic activities.
The people thanked the Governor during a special visit of Government Correspondents to the area to see the level of work done by government on the 19.8km road linking Ikole-Isaba-Ikoyi with Igbemo Ekiti.
A well-planned and efficiently managed road system is a catalyst for economic growth, hence the need the Biodun Oyebanji administration placed premium in the sector as encapsulated in the six point agenda.
Recalled that Governor Oyebanji during his recent tour road projects across the state assured that reconstruction of existing intra and inter township roads toplisted his roadmap in 2025, the move according to him will stimulate socio economic and industrial growth.
Today, the assurance is becoming more evident across various communities.
A visit to Ikole axis showed that the road construction linking Ikole/Isaba/Ikoyi to Igbemo Ekiti has reached appreciable stage as residents thanked Governor Oyebanji for reopening the road for the benefits of the community people especially farmers and traders.
In separate interviews residents who narrated their ordeal before the intervention observed that the benefits of the road after completion are enormous especially in boosting food production.
The Managing Director, Delko Holdings Construction Company handling the project, Engineer Olufemi Aluko said the road project which began in November last year was currently receiving asphalt overlay promising that the project will be delivered before the 18months stipulated time and according to specifications.
Engineer Aluko explained that the hydraulic structures and line drains have been done and thanked Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for the opportunity given the company to prove its quality works in road construction.
He maintained that quality materials are being used for the project with a guarantee that with the machinery put in place, the 19.8km road will stand the test of time.
