The Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN), Ekiti State Chapter has sworn-in its new Substantive Executives that will steer the affairs of the Association for the next tow years.
The executive members who were initially on acting capacity were recently elected by members of the association at an election that saw Evangelist Michael Olu-Olobele emerged as Chairman.
Other exco members were,
Mrs Akinola Stela –Vice Chairman,
Sir Kingsley Nwache -General Secretary
Mr Omodara Kayode Ayokunle –Public Relations Officer(PRO)
and Baale Adeniyi Michael -Assistant Secretary.
At the Inauguration ceremony held in Ado Ekiti, Oath of Allegiance and Office were administered on the new executives by a legal practitioner, Barrister Layi Obisesan with a promise by them to uphold the rules and regulations guiding the body.
In his inaugural speech, PEDAN Chairman, Evangelist Michael Olu-Olobele thanked all members for the confidence repose in him and other elected officers.
He reminded those at the event of the achievements recorded by him while in acting capacity to include, provision of furniture and office equipment, acquiring an office space for the association, Purchase of a vehicle for the association, acquiring a landed property for the association and engaging Oil and Gas regulatory stakeholders in meaningful dialogue to engender peace and a business friendly environment
On behalf of other members, Ekiti PEDAN State Chairman promised that they will redouble their efforts towards the progress and development of the Association, while asking for the support of all members to achieve their dreamt plans for the Association with a call on anyone aggrieved by any action or inaction to sheath his or her sword.
Olobele said ”today I make a solemn promise to redouble my efforts, along with my fellow executives as we begin the journey towards building a permanent structure for the associations. I therefore call on all members to join hands with us in making this laudable vision a reality.
Goodwill messages came from the Chairman, Board of Trustee of PEDAN, High Chief Ayodele Owoeye(IBISCO), Chairman, Ekiti State Petroleum Task Force, Honorable Odunayo Arinka represented by represented by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria -IPMAN, Ore depot, Mr Bayo Awodunmila, Chairman, Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers NUPENG, Ekiti State chapter, Comrade Aigbe, IPMAN Secretary, Abiodun Bankole, KBF Director, Alhaji Kazeem and other members of the State Chapter of PEDAN.
They congratulated the new executives whom were observed had performed creditably well even before their elections as substantive exco members, saying the positions demand more work which they must do to engender more achievements in the association.
They also called on all members of the association to join hands with the new executives to make progress, while appealing to those aggrieved to have a rethink for advance cause of PEDAN.
The peak of the event were presentation of Certificates to newly sworn-in executive members by Mr Isaac Shedowo.
