The Chairman of Ikole West LCDA, Honourable Mosunmola Adeyemo has appealed to residents of Ikole West LCDA to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) being conducted by the nation’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Hon. Adeyemo, in a statement made available to theReportersNG on Friday, urged all eligible citizens and residents not to miss the opportunity of getting registered to vote.
The appeal of the Council Boss, coincided with the commencement of the CVR exercise nationwide, calling it “a critical civic responsibility.”
He emphasized the need for active citizen participation in the nation’s democratic process, a step which, according to her, begins with voters’ registration.
Honourable (Mrs) Mosunmola Adeyemo called on citizens residing outside the council area or the state to transfer their cards to the area and ensure that their details were duly updated so as to be able to vote in the 2026 governorship election in the state.
“I call on Ikole West LCDA residents outside this area to transfer their voting cards to the state and ensure mass participation for retention of people oriented leadership by June 20, 2026.
“Our voting card is our weapon to prove that good governance is a possibility as Ekiti State had been experiencing in about three years of Oyebanji’s administration.
“We must not only update our registration details, we should ensure we vote and protect our votes when the time comes,” said the Chairman
Describing the 2026 governorship election as pivotal to sustainable delivery of good governance in the state, Adeyemo called on voters who may have lost or misplaced their cards including those whose cards are defaced to get new ones, noting that “We all must exercise our voting right to sustain a listening and responsive administration in the state.”
