A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and former House of Assembly aspirant, Mr. Oluwole Durodola with his supporters has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at Ward A, Iloro Ekiti, in Irewolede Local Council Development Area.
Durodola made the formal declaration at a ward meeting held at the APC party secretariat at Iloro Ekiti
It was a joyous occasion at Iloro Ekiti as Mr. Durodola, who people described as a gallant politician in the town, formally announced his defection in the presence of APC members who welcomed him with chants and songs.
Clarifying his decision, the PDP chieftain said he finally decided to dump the party after assessing its current state.
Welcoming them into the APC fold on behalf of their leader, Mr. Dapo Kolawole, the ward party chairman, Elder James Adaralegbe, and other leaders, including a former Commissioner Chief Ojo Atibioke and Councillor representing the ward, Mr. Awe Idowu, commended the defectors for aligning with the APC.
Mr. Durodola noted that he and his followers have joined other progressives to strengthen the APC

They described Mr. Durodola as a key figure in the political space of the town and assured full integration of the defectors into the party structure.
They expressed confidence that the results of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the town, as well as the state, will be the best ever.
