The Commissioner in charge of Human Resources Management in the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB) , Dr. Olufunke Fajobi has congratulated the State governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief(Mrs) Monisade Afuye on the occasion of their remarkable third year in office, saying his achievements in basic education speak volume.
Dr. Fajobi stated this in her congratulatory message made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, the State capital
The SUBEB Commissioner said the State governor had shown unwavering commitment towards the realization of his initiatives in the sector and appreciated him for his vision and insights to ensure that Ekiti takes its pride of place among comity of states in the country.
She said there was no gainsaying that the Governor have excelled above every expectation in educational development of the state.
“Your Excellency, I congratulate you on this day as you clock three years in office as the governor of our dear State.’’
Fajobi also used the medium to reel out some of the achievements of the Governor in basic education level since the inception of the present administration in the State.
“In public schools, the present administration under BAO had constructed new blocks of classrooms, added with renovation works, construction of perimeter fencing inclusive, provision of instructional materials to aid teaching and learning while an appreciable number of basic schools have been established
“To address the issue of shortage of teachers in primary schools, She reminded that Governor Oyebanji recruited over 1,500 teachers, engage more night guards, regular payment of salaries, approved promoted graduate teachers in primary schools to grade level 16, more than 2000 teachers and 48 Education Officers had been trained and retrained, provision of car and housing loans; the magnanimity which She noted was the first in the history of basic school teachers in Ekiti.
“Your unwavering commitment towards the actualization of Shared Prosperity Agenda has been visible to Ekiti citizens as you have demonstrated uncommon feat in governance.
She enjoined Ekiti people to continue to support the governor and assured them of more development across all sectors in the State.
“Ekiti has regained its lost glory in the education sector, and I assured you your excellency that all teachers in Ekiti are solidily behind you and will reciprocate your kindness towards them with votes in 2026 Governorship election.”Fajobi boasts.
