A member of Ekiti State House of Assembly representing Moba constituency 1, Mrs Abimbola Solanke has felicitated with workers in Ekiti State and Nigeria as they join the rest of the world in commemorating the 2026 International Workers Day.

The State lawmaker noted the significance of May 1, which has been set aside every year to celebrate workers as the creators of wealth and to reflect on how to improve their work environment and welfare.
“I congratulate and salute you all (workers). You are the backbone of our nation, and your welfare is crucial for the country’s progress. This year’s celebration is particularly significant as it allows workers and advocates of the working class to reflect on their current circumstances and explore viable solutions,”_ Hon. Solanke said.
Honourable Solanke eulogized commitment Governor Oyebanji’s administration towards ensuring better welfare and a more conducive working environment for Ekiti workers and making necessary sacrifices to improving their living standards
She said: ”I felicitate with the Nigerian workers on this occasion of the Worker’s Day of International Solidarity and Unity. The Nigerian labour movement has a proud heritage beginning from the heroic contributions of its founding fathers in the struggle for the independence of Nigeria and emancipation of workers and the masses.
“By this, we will continue to stand by the Nigerian workers to rid our statute books of anti-labour laws and promote legislations that will make our society a better place for the working people.” said the lawmaker.
The Honourable member wished Nigerian workers a memorable celebration
