A non-governmental Organization called ”Arede Dynasty Foundation” has been launched in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria to commemorate the 10 years remembrance of the late Madam Omojolagbe Julianah Apempe popularly called ”Eye Arede,” the mother of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin, the Olukere fo Ikere, Odo-Oja, Ikere local government.
The ceremony held at the Matriarch’s residence in Ajibade lane, off Orereowu, Ado Ekiti, had children, relatives, clerics, academia, politicians and other personalities in attendance.
Over one hundred beneficiaries cutting across market traders, particularly sellers of yam tubers-Mama’s major business during her lifetime, Students, Elderly, Orphans and less priviledged ones from Ikere and Ado Ekiti were presented with cash gifts ranging from 100,000, 50,000, 30,000, 20,000 and food stuffs inclusive.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Olukere of Ikere, Odo-Oja, Oba Ayodele Obasoyin said the foundation was instituted in honour of his mother to reflect her legacy of love, care and benevolence to everyone that crossed her ways with a view to give helping hangs to the needy in the society.
Oba Obasoyin said the initiative will be done on a yearly basis to commemorate his mother ”Eye Rede” gestures. adding that in the subsequent editions, more largesse will be incorporated such as Scholarship awards for students, support for the aged who are basically in need and distribution of massive food items for the people.
”This is the maiden edition of the Arede Dynasty foundation, more schemes would be unveiled in subsequent editions, said Olukere.
The traditional ruler appealed to all well to do Nigerians to extend hands of love to those who could not fend for themselves as it was one of the major lessons learnt from his late mother.
The eldest daughter of the dynasty, Mrs Lola Fati and Pastor Sunday as well as a relative who is thecurrent National President of ASUSS, Comrade Sola Adigun spoke glowingly about Mama saying her attributes of generosity would linger through the Arede Dynasty foundation
Beneficiaries of this year’s edition who included, Mrs Rhoda Ogundipe, Mrs Florence Babatola, Emily Agesin, Seun Orolu. Mrs Ajetomobi amongst others thanked the children for the magnanimity, saying the foundation will bring sucour to the less privileged ones in the society.

The late Madam Julianah Omotolagbe Apempe fondly called ”Eye Rede” was born in Ado Ekiti. She died at the age of 98 years
