The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has intensified efforts to increase school enrollment and reduce the number of out-of-school children across the state.
The Commissioner in charge of Human Resources Management at Ekiti SUBEB, Dr. Olufunke Fajobi, disclosed this while featuring on the statewide programme, Ekiti Today, broadcast on Thursday, September 17, 2026, across radio stations in Ekiti State and Adaba FM, Akure.
Dr. Fajobi said the ongoing enrollment drive is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring that every child of school age has access to quality basic education.
She explained that SUBEB is implementing various government policies and programmes aimed at strengthening basic education, while monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning activities across schools in the state.
The Commissioner noted that the Board is adopting community and parental engagement strategies to address the challenge of out-of-school children, stressing that the cooperation of parents and communities remains critical to achieving universal school enrollment.
Dr. Fajobi also highlighted the continuous training and retraining of teachers to enhance their pedagogical skills and improve the quality of teaching and learning in public schools.
She further spoke on the recruitment, deployment and effective management of teaching and non-teaching personnel under the purview of the Board, describing human-resource management as essential to the effective delivery of basic education in the state.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of Ekiti SUBEB to sustaining programmes and initiatives that will improve access to quality basic education and promote better learning outcomes for children across the state.
