The Commissioner in Charge of Human Resources Management at Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB), Dr. Olufunke Fajobi has felicitated with Nigerian women as they celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day.
Dr. Fajobi while answering questions from Newsmen described women especially those from Ekiti State as hardworking and a pillar to their families, noting that Women play indispensable roles in private and public lives and deserve full support and respect of society
The SUBEB Commissioner affirmed that there is no tomorrow without women who have proven to be builders of our nation. ”Women are the most powerful tool of political advancement in our Country because of their demographic strength. “They are resilient and persevering in attaining and sustaining the livelihood of their homes.
“This explains why the woman today must be included in governance, education, agriculture and politics.” Fajobi added
Dr Fajobi who acknowledged the Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji on her quest for Women’s development and wellbeing, promised to continue to join hands with the Ekiti first lady to always promote and defend the rights, interests and aspirations of women and as well in the advocacy of Safeguarding the Girl-child from Social Vices
The International Women’s Day is celebrated this March 8 yearly with the theme “”Accelerate Action,” emphasizing the urgency of advancing gender equality.
She added that in spite of the disadvantage of being most vulnerable and marginalised, women are effective and powerful leaders and change-makers
According to the World Economic Forum, at the current pace, achieving full gender parity may take until 2158—approximately five generations from now
