Residents of various towns in Ikole West Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State have celebrated the unprecedented grading of their roads by the council Chairman, Honorable (Mrs) Mosunmola Adeyemo.
The roads reconstruction, which covers over seven communities including farmsteads, are critical roads in the metropolis that had been in deplorable state for decades.
Speaking with Journalists, the Chairman of Ikole West LCDA, Honorable (Mrs) Mosunmola Adeyemo said the affected roads had been in deplorable state for long, hence the need for her administration to take up the challenge as part of determination make life bearable for residents of the council area in tandem with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s agenda on infrastructural development.
She named the benefitting towns where roads are upgraded to include, Ikoyi, Asin, Otunja, Igbonna, Ilamo, Isaba and Usin Ekiti.
As part of the roads connectivity approach, the Ikole West LCDA Boss, explained that drainages have also been constructed including a bridge around the council basic health center to prevent flooding just as full rainy season approaches.
Hon. Adeyemo who personally monitored the grading of the roads in the 7 communities, thanked Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji(BAO) for the maximum support given her to deliver dividends of democracy to the community people, assuring him of the total support of the area for his administration till year 2030.
The Council boss assured residents of the area of more deliverables under the BAO administration, urging them to keep faith with Oyebanji-the peoples Governor who has been ”Walking the Talk”.
The jubilating crowd which included, traditonal rulers, chiefs, landlords and other dwellers described the initiative by the Ikole LCDA Chairman, Hon. Mosunmola Adeyemi as a positive turning point in the area after years of neglect as it road reconstruction will ease both human and vehicular movement and as well open up social economic activities in the respective communities.
Commenting on behalf of all the community leaders, Dr Lanre Ayejuyo thanked the Council Chairman for the steps taken which He said has brought respite to residents, the gesture according to him will stimulate economic growth of the axis.
He thanked Governor Oyebanji for extending dividends of democracy to the area through the local council assuring him of their unflinching support till year 2030.
