As the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) resumes its Voters Registration Nationwide, the Executive Chairman of Ijero local government, has urged residents of the council area to participate actively in the ongoing exercise.
Folowosele made the appeal in a statement on Thursday at Ijero Ekiti.
The Ijero local government Chairman said that the Permanent Voters Card(PVC) issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission remained “the most powerful instrument for influencing governance and safeguarding the people’s future”.
According to him, democracy begins with the CVR registration and collection of the PVC as both the people’s voice and their pathway to shaping a collective destiny.
“Your PVC is your power. The road to a better tomorrow begins with CVR registration,” he said.
Honourable Folowosele encouraged all eligible residents — especially first-time voters aged 18, those seeking to replace lost cards, and those yet to be registered in the Independent National Electoral Commission database — to seize this opportunity without delay.
“INEC registration is ongoing here in Ijero local government area from Mondays to Fridays, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. The process remains free of charge,” Folwosele said, while calling on community leaders, youth groups, women’s organizations, and civil society groups to intensify grassroots sensitization campaigns to encourage massive participation.
The council chairman stressed that, with this mobilization drive, the council was reinforcing its commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that every eligible citizen get registered and updated to sustain the back to back APC government in Ekiti State with the continuity of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration till year 2030.
