Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has assured residents of Are Ekiti in Ifedara local council development council and Oye Ekiti in Oyebanji local government that the ongoing road construction linking the communities will be completed in due time.
Speaking at Are Ekiti during an inspection tour of ongoing rural projects across the state, the Governor inspected the project in the town being executed by his administration through the Rural Agricultural Marketing Programme (RAAMP), an initiative between the State Government and Federal Government as supported by the World Bank.
Governor Oyebanji commended the contractor handling the road project-, Hallekem Construction company for a job done so far and urged the company to maintain the use of standard materials on the job to enable it stand the test of time.
Urging the community people to cooperate with company handling the work, Hallekem Construction to deliver speedy work, the Governor informed that the contract of the second phase of the rural road linking Odode quarters with Ado will soon be awarded.
He restated his administration’s commitment to make life bearable for the citizens, ensure easy transportation of farm produces to markets, promising to continue to provide more basic amenities for the people in other to make enjoy the results of their votes.
In an interview with Journalists, The Project Manager, Hallekem Construction company, Engineer Martins Adeniran who said that the construction work has reached the second stage with the hydraulic structure almost finished, noted that quality materials which the company is known for would be maintained.
Other projects inspected by the Governor were, the ongoing Ilupeju/Itapa Hospital renovation, Ilupeju-Igbo Egan-Ayede Road, Iye-Olopomeji-Ikun road as well the General hospitals at Iye and Ifaki Ekiti.
