The Board, Management and Staff of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (EKSUBEB) have congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his double recognition as Vanguard Newspaper’s Personality of the Year 2024 on Good Governance and Energy Times, Energy Governor of the Year.

In a congratulatory statement made available to Journalists on Sunday on behalf of Ekiti SUBEB, The Executive Chairman Professor Femi Akinwumi described the honour on the Governor Oyebanji as well-deserved, noting that it reflects the governor’s steadfast dedication to good governance, infrastructure and educational development, and the welfare of Ekiti citizens.
Professor Akinwumi noted that the Governor’s strides in Educational Development, Infrastructure, Security, Healthcare among others are visible imprints of good governance which have transcended the shores of the State; thereby earning him the remarkable national recognition.
“This prestigious award is a clear testament to your unwavering commitment to good governance, educational, infrastructural and economic development, human capital investment, and the uplift of the lives of the good people of Ekiti State,” Akinwumi said.
He praised Oyebanji’s visionary leadership, citing visible progress across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment as well as ensuring stable power supply across various communities of the state.
“Your ability to combine wisdom, integrity, and compassion in governance has earned you not only the admiration of Ekiti people, but also the respect of Nigerians. This award, therefore, comes as no surprise to those who have followed your exemplary service and transformative policies,” he added.
Akinwumi thanked Governor Oyebanji for prompt provision of instructional materials for primary schools, provision of vehicles for education officials, regular teacher training programs, schools renovation, promotion of degree holding primary school teachers to level 16, regular payment of salaries, pensions and gratuity amongst others.
The Ekiti SUBEB Boss expressed hope that the recognition would spur the governor to even greater achievements, reaffirming the pride Ekiti kete feel in his leadership. “As you continue to serve with excellence and purpose, may this recognition inspire even greater strides in your quest to actualize the Shared Prosperity Agenda.
Describing Ekiti teachers as foot soldiers of the Governor, Professor Akinwumi, Commissioner in charge of Human Resources Management, Dr Funke Fajobi and Commissioner, Project Management, Dr Kayode Adeoye assured him of their total support and his administration till Year 2030.
